For the past several days, wildfires have blazed through Maui, resulting in widespread evacuations and leaving thousands of residents without homes. There have been 55 confirmed deaths since the start of the wildfires.

On Thursday, Oprah, who has lived part-time on the island for the past 15 years, helped hand out supplies at the War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku, which has been converted to a shelter and resource center.

As rescue and emergency operations continue, there are a number of organizations you can support to help those in need on the island of Maui.
