Jimmy Kimmel Live! is celebrating 20 years on the air, and Oprah, along with countless other celebrities, recorded videos to mark two decades of the late-night talk show.
The videos were aired on a special 20th-anniversary episode—January 26, 2023, 20 years to the date of Kimmel’s first show. Along with the video tribute, George Clooney, Snoop Dogg, and Coldplay—the same three guests from his very first episode—joined Kimmel IRL. Of course, there was a lot of reminiscing (including Kimmel showing some of Clooney’s less-than-flattering high school yearbook photos). Kimmel even had a chat with himself from 20 years ago.
Kimmel has also been sharing highlights of the past 20 years on social media. The show has had more than 3,500 episodes and 10,000 stars (including five presidents)—and holds the record for longest-running late-night talk show on ABC.
Oprah had to join in, sharing her own video of congratulations from one talk show host to another. Oprah previously worked with Kimmel on a special interview for the February 2018 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine. Watch her message for Kimmel below.
“Congratulations—and keep going,” Oprah says in the clip. For the full video that aired on the 20th-anniversary episode, Oprah was joined by countless celebrities, from Emily Blunt and John Krasinski to Shaquille O’Neal, Tom Hanks, Kerry Washington, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Carol Burnett, and even Michelle Obama. Watch the full video below.
Just like (most) of Kimmel’s celeb friends say, here’s to many more years of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
