Amazon Prime Day 2023 is officially here! Today and tomorrow only (until the clock strikes 11:59 P.M. PST on July 12!), Amazon is majorly discounting hot ticket items like Apple Watches, robot vacuums, and more for the annual summer sale event. But there's one deal in particular that we're super excited about: Kindles, Amazon's e-reader. Typically, Kindles only drop in price around major holiday savings events like Black Friday, so when we saw this Prime Day Kindle deal it immediately caught our eye.

Kindle is one of Amazon's most popular devices, so Prime Day is a great time to pick one up for less (especially if you have a reader in your life who would appreciate the gift come holiday time!). Kindles come with a host of features, like WiFi accessibility to access the Amazon Kindle Store, where you can download the latest and greatest reads. Plus, the battery lives of Kindles are seriously impressive: select models will last up to 12 weeks on a single charge. The screens of each Kindle are matte and glare-proof, so you can enjoy your books just about anywhere without worrying about a reflecting screen.

Kindles went on sale in the weeks before Prime Day, but these deals are the best we've seen all year. We'll be updating this page with the latest and greatest Kindle deals as the sale roars on, so we recommend saving this article so you can quickly come back to it and score yourself a new e-reader at an ultra-low cost.

Is Kindle on sale during Amazon Prime Day?

July 11 and 12 proved to be worth the wait for official Amazon Prime Day 2023 Kindle deals, since select models have dropped well below $100. In years past, Kindle devices have been included in Prime Day deals, so we're excited Amazon has included them once again in this year's savings. This year's Prime Day Kindle deals have beat last year's, so it's a smart time to buy.

Will Prime Day have Kindle Unlimited deals?

Right now, you can get a two month Kindle Unlimited subscription for $4.99 per month. That's down from $23.98 per month, and once the two months expires you'll have to pay full price again, but you can also access a 30-day free trial with the purchase of your new Kindle (or if you've yet to try it out on a device you already own).

Kindle (2022 Release) is $65 (35 percent off; $35 off)

With this version (aka the most affordable Kindle), you're getting all of the great features of the Amazon e-reader. This model has a 6-inch screen, 16GB of storage for all your favorite reads, and comes in a classic black or denim blue finish. It's a lightweight reader that will last up to six weeks on a single charge, meaning you'll be able to flip through your digital pages all vacation long. This Kindle connects to WiFi for access to the Kindle Store and lets you read downloaded books while offline.

Kindle Paperwhite (8GB) is $90 (36 percent off; $50 off)

The Kindle Paperwhite is a step up in screen size, with a 6.8-inch screen to read off of. You can choose between 8GB and 16GB storage options, so you can pick the best fit depending on how many books you like to keep stored on your device. The battery of this gadget should last you up to 10 weeks on a single charge, and it has an adjustable warm light built into the screen so you can switch from white to an amber light that's a bit easier on the eyes. It's also IPX8 water-resistant rated, so it's a great pool or beachside pick.

Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (32GB) is $125 (34 percent off; $65 off)

Sticking to the same 6.8-inch screen, the Paperwhite Signature Edition has everything the Paperwhite Edition offers, and then some. The device is wireless charging enabled, features an auto-adjusting front light, and a whopping 32GB of storage. The front light will automatically adjust based on the lighting of the space you're reading in, and you can even schedule lighting changes (nighttime readers, this one's for you!). The battery will last up to 10 weeks on a single charge and while it might be the most expensive Kindle, you're getting loads of features and tech specs.

Kindle Scribe (16GB) is $255 (25 percent off; $85 off)

The Kindle Scribe is the newest addition to the Kindle lineup, and the biggest upgrade it adds is being able to scribble in your own notes, journal and draw using the included pen, dubbed the Basic Pen. It gives the Kindle a bit more of a tablet feel, but keeps the matte anti-glare screen and boasts a battery life that lasts up to 12 weeks (based on 30 minutes of reading a day).

Kindle Oasis is $165 (34 percent off; $85 off)

The Kindle Oasis is IPX8 waterproof, so if your idea of a perfect evening is reading in the tub or by the pool, this is the e-reader you'll want to add to your cart. It has a seven inch screen that you can adjust the shade of (from a crisp and cool toned white to a softer amber yellow). The IPX8 rating means it's able to withstand immersion in fresh water (up to two meters) for 60 minutes, and in 0.25 meters of salt water 3 minutes. In other words, you've found your summertime e-reader.

Kindle Kids is $75 (38 percent off; $45 off)

For the little reader who doesn't have much room in their travel bags for those summer reading list picks, the Kindle Kids comes in handy. A single charge lasts up to 6 weeks (so they can't use a dead battery as an excuse) and your purchase comes with a Kindle cover, a year-long subscription to Amazon Kids, plus a two-year warranty. You'll also have access to the Parent Dashboard, where you can check their average reading times and set goals.
