11 Long-Lasting Eyebrow Gels That Makeup Artists Swear By
No flaking, stickiness, or sparse areas here.
Once you've done all the hard work to expertly shape your brows, it's easy to maintain them. All you need is a trusty pair of tweezers for occasional touch-ups, a brow pen to fill in any sparse patches, and—you guessed it—a brow gel to keep everything in place all day long. "Eyebrow gel is basically like hairspray for your brows," says Carl Ray, chief makeup artist for Albolene. "It lifts and holds the hairs in place throughout the day, and even helps brows look thicker."
Our Top Picks
Like hairspray, there are many different types of brow gel. "They come in a great variety of colors and can completely transform an eyebrow," says Sebastién Tardif, celebrity makeup artist and founder of Veil Cosmetics. Some are clear and simply function to keep hairs in place, others are tinted to enhance color, and some even give brows a soft sheen.
No matter which type of gel or pomade you gravitate toward, use a spoolie for the most precise application, says Tardif. And always make sure to take it off at the end of the day. "Wearing a waterproof or long-wearing brow gel can certainly dry out hairs, or worse, without proper nightly cleansing, can cause damage to the hair follicles," says makeup artist Sarah Redzikowski. (If you're a regular user, castor oil can also help keep those hair follicles healthy!)
Ready to tame those strays? Professional makeup artists say these are the eyebrow gels they rely on to get the job done.
